Nineteen is the first part of the Carthaginian trilogy by Sami Mokaddem. It is a book that combines suspense and Carthaginian history in an original mix that restores the nobility of the genre's literature. Through its trilogy, Sami Mokaddem presents the hidden facet of the story and the reader rediscovers with him what is hidden in the ruins of Carthage, learns more about Punic mythology and accompanies Hannibal in his conquest of Rome. A trilogy that encourages the reader to learn more about the ancient history of Tunisia and to go further in his research.
Sami Mokaddem was born in 1982. A chartered accountant, he escaped the world of numbers by publishing his first novel on social media. In 2013, he published his first collection of short stories. In 2014, he published his first novel, Nineteen, winner of the 2015 Comar Prize in the category Découverte (Emerging Writer).
"تسعة عشر" هو الجزء الأول من ثلاثية قرطاجية للروائي سامي مقدّم. كتابٌ يجمع بين التشويق والتاريخ القرطاجي، في مزيج جديد من نوعه يعيد إلى هذا النوع حقّه الذي يستحق. يعرض سامي مقدم، من خلال هذه الثلاثية ("تسعة عشر"، "دم الملائكة"، "سرّ آل برقا")، ذلك الجانب الخفي من التاريخ، متيحاً للقارئ اكتشاف ما تخفيه أطلال قرطاج، والاطلاع أكثر على الأساطير البونيقية وكذلك مرافقة حنبعل في حملته لغزو روما. ثلاثية تحثّ القارئ على الإلمام بالتاريخ التونسي القديم وعلى تعميق أبحاثه حول هذا الموضوع.
ولد سامي مقدم عام 1982، وهو حاصل على شهادة في المحاسبة القانونية. وجد في نشر أولى قصصه على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي وسيلة للهرب من عالم الأرقام. نشر، عام 2013، مجموعته القصصية الأولى، "المدينة القرمزية". وألحقها، في عام 2014، بروايته الأولى، "تسعة عشر"، الحائزة على جائزة "الكومار" (2015) في فئة الاكتشاف. نشر الجزء الثاني من ثلاثية قرطاج، "دم الملائكة"، عام 2017، وأتبعه بالجزء الثالث، "سر آل برقا"، عام 2020. نشر، عام 2019، رواية باللغة العربية هي "مقبرة الفراشات".
